Baby's First Doctor Visit

This made me laugh out loud. I hope it will give you a smile!

A woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room, waiting for the doctor to come in for the baby's first exam.

The doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight, and being a little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed.

'Breast-fed, ' she replied.
'Well, strip down to your waist,' the doctor ordered.
She did. He pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded, and rubbed both breasts for a while in a very professional and detailed examination.

Motioning to her to get dressed, the doctor said, 'No wonder this baby is underweight.. You don't have any milk.'

I know,' she said, 'I'm his Grandma, but I'm glad I came'.

Blocked Ducts and Mastitis

Jack Newman [02 February 2010] - Mastitis is a bacterial infection of the breast that usually occurs in breastfeeding mothers. However, it can occur in women who are not breastfeeding or pregnant, and can occur even in small babies of either sex. Nobody knows exactly why some women get mastitis and others do not. Bacteria may gain access to the breast through a crack or sore in the nipple, but women without sore nipples also get mastitis, and most women with cracks in the nipple do not.

Is a home birth the only save way to escape a caesarean section in SA?

I have been attending an antenatal class recently as we are expecting our second child. I can only highly recommend doing the same to any pregnant women. I thought I am really well informed but still, almost every week I attend the class I hear something I didn't know, or thought about before. Great way to make an INFORMED decision although my decision was and is clear,but going to these class just confirmed that our decision is the best one we could possibly have made for us and my future second child.
