Going for it again?

I was amazed when I was at a mom's meeting and most women at the meeting said that they had their second child for the sake of the first. I thought that this is a ludicrous idea – I mean you have children because YOU wanted to not because your child wanted it...

Yes, and so I am at the crossroad. Mia is turning three in January and I am thinking that with her cousin being born in November she will feel out – up to this point the love of her life – her cousin has been on par as a single child but as the reality dawns on all of us that the family will be getting bigger soon, so is the idea that Mia will not understand why she does not have a sibling.

Being raised as the youngest of four and far apart from my older sisters I did grow up as though I was a lone child, yet now that I am older I have great relationships with all my sisters. I would feel very alone in the world if there was no one to bounce an idea off, or to look forward to see... these are the things Mia would miss if we were not to go ahead and have a second child.

So here I am confronted with the ever loader ticking of my biological clock – saying that it is NOW or NEVER. I am not completely convinced nor do I really feel like going through all THAT again... but just maybe...
