Joleen Bilgin

Joleen is a registered nurse. She is born and bred in Cape Town and completed her nursing diploma at Tygerberg, with general psychiatry and obstetrics; she also proclaims these years as wonderful.


She then works at the Panorama Medi Clinic from 1996-2004 in their coronary Intensive care unit. In 1999 she completes her ICU course at Stellenbosch Cum Laude. Although she will always have a soft spot for ICU and specifically the heart; she has found the clinic environment rewarding from its diversity; and both her training as well as her knowledge comes in handy.

She is most definitely PRO: immunisation, breastfeeding, macrobiotics and LOTS of children; although she will never force her ideas on anyone, and is always mindful of the individual; and their situation. She believes that homoeopathy has a place in medicine, but believe that it should be mixed with traditional medication, or rather combined.

She enjoys the outdoors, loves camping, fishing, and anything where she can go barefoot, and get dirty; even if it is just potting in the garden.

Although she jogs and try to eat healthy she confess that she is does not give her children Zymaflour or Multi vitamins, "terrible" in her own words.

She has been chosen for this panel, due to her character and humanity. She is a mother like any other who also wrestle with the same questions and doubts. I believe she will add a lot to this panel; and is ready to answer your questions.
